Children must come to football equipped with the items listed below. Failure to adhear to these standards may result in your child not being involved in the session as safety is paramount and their are reasons for the requirements. Our decision is final on this, no kit - no play!
- FOOTBALL BOOTS - close fitting, comfortable boots with "studs" or "blades". Boot laces should be tied with no big loops or tails.
- SHIN PADS - please check for British Standard quality before buying these, there are many cheap and unsafe examples out there! Shin pads with ankle protectors are ok, but can restrict the movement of the foot which does heighten the chances of injury.
- FOOTBALL SOCKS* - these should completely cover the shin pads, and be a snug fit at both the toe-end and reach just below the knee.
- SHORTS* - Preferably not made of towelling material, football shorts with a lining are the best type, no surfing or bermuda styles please!
- SHIRT* - Does not have to be anything flash, as long as it is comfortable and fits! T-shirts are fine. No rude/defamatory slogans.
- TRACKSUIT - Not an essential, but usually very necessary for the cold winter evenings. Also on matchdays for substitutions. NO SHELL-SUITS!
- GLOVES - Goalkeepers gloves, if worn, are to be comfortable and close-fitting. No Bendy-backwards fingers thank you.
- DRINK - Absolutly Vital - In a named resealable bottle, no more than 1 litre in size. Please ensure that your children do not bring fizzy drinks.
- TRAINERS - When the ground is hard or we are using an artificial surface, your child will be asked to bring trainers. These should have solid uppers, with no fabric segments.
- WATERPROOFS - should the weather be inclement, childen will need a waterproof coat or jacket to wear over their kit. Please ensure they have this to avoid the team going down with influenza!
There is a very good chance of all of the above getting muddy, wet or grass-stained. Please try to avoid sending your child in Armani/Gucci/Versace clothing, just to save on the tears!
Please remember - jewellery/watches/mobile phones/valuables have no place at our football sessions. Please ensure that your child does not bring any of these items as there is no safe storage for them and we don't want to waste time looking for them if lost. All jewellery should be removed or taped up BEFORE coming to football. If there are any issues regarding this regulation, please see me in person.
* For players in the Under 10 and Under 13 leagues, club shirts, shorts and socks are provided for matchdays. Own kit is still needed for training. |
